My whole cabin is wired on 12g. Which comes from the big cabin strung
through the trees to the little shack to my cabin(should
be 4g. directly from
a power pole). It's not enough to run the cabin(which
has only 4 main
outlets and is heavily over stocked with additional power strips, sometimes up
to 4 powerstrips on one outlet allowing 6 additional plug-ins per strip)

This is how I get extra power to my cabin (blue extension cord) and
how I get power to the shack (yellow cord) which must remain
heated because that's where my water and clothes are and
where winter batteries are stored. Combined this is also why I pay
outrageous electric bills in the winter.... around $160/month.
Extension cords 'work', but are by far not
the most efficient way to power your household ! ! !
